looks cool :) so whats the story on this background and the flares on the far right are those monster's eyes?
The story basically is that we have this fiery entity using its powers to take control of the 'forest' depicted; the roots (or tentacles) entangling the creature's 'attacks' (depicted by thicker, warmer branches sprouting from the top-down) are the work of the forest itself as it fights for continued independence. I didn't think so far ahead as to why this is happening but I guess it's fitting that we're only aware of what we can see.
The flares to the right are indeed the monster's eyes, I chose not to give it a fully physical image so as to imply that it is not of this world + create a feeling of superior strength and power as the creature is not bounded by a physical body.

Thanks. I used my own hair- I've got plenty of it. I washed it, sterilized/bleached it with hydrogen peroxide, and spun it into yarn.
